Why am I speaking out now?
At the very end of 2012 my story was published, and at the beginning of 2013 I began reaching out to a few ministries, churches, and magazines through emails. (Remember, these were the days before social media exploded) An editor from a Christian magazine emailed me back and told me that he thought my story was a very crucial topic that Christians need to address and speak about, but he told me that he thought I was about a decade ahead of myself. He said that in around ten years, the Christian world will probably be at a place to have this discussion. At that time, I thought that was an interesting statement that he made, but I went on with my life, not giving his statement much thought.
At the end of 2013 my husband and I moved back to Florida. My husband had been a pastor for ten years, but due to health issues he had to step down from being a senior pastor. Life became very very busy. I worked in an emergency children's shelter with foster children for awhile, and I have been employed for the past eight years with a home health pediatric agency. I volunteered at the county jail for around three years in Vero Beach, and I currently volunteer at Hadassah's Hope and I am also an Awanas leader in the children's ministry at my church.
We now have nine grandchildren! We have moved several times, and we currently live in Jacksonville, FL where two, of our four daughters, and their families now live.
The Lord has put a stirring in my heart to step out in faith and share my testimony with other women, and He has led me to start UC Women JAX. As I began creating this web site, the Lord brought back to my memory what that Christian editor emailed me back in 2013. Coincidentally, and not planned at all, I created this web site in 2023 (ten years later), and here I am, ready to share my story with the women that the Lord brings my way!
In Jesus Christ there is healing.
There is forgiveness.
There is FREEDOM!
